Moroccan Excursion: Imlil to Mount Jbel Toubkal and back, all in one day.
Enjoy a single day of trekking in the High Atlas Mountains. Discover Jebel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. Experience the local Berber Villages.
We will walk from the beautiful village of Imlil to the deep valley below Jbel Toubkal. To get to Imlil, we will pick you up from the hotel in Marrakech. From there we will drive for around 1.5 hours before we arrive in the village itself.
From Imlil we’ll head to Aremd village and on the way we will cross through the Berber Villages to reach the mighty Jebel Toubkal. We will then go to a traditional gite (guesthouse) where we’ll have a wonderful Berber lunch. After the meal we will head back to Imlil and drive back to Marrakech by the same route as we took to get there.
Day’s Itinerary : Marrakech / Imlil / Aremd / Jebel Toubkal
You will be picked up from the hotel in Marrakech at 9 o’clock in the morning. From there it is a 1.5 hour drive to Imlil which is 1740 meters above sea level (ASL).
In Imlil we’ll start a walk with the guide to Aremd village (1900 ASL). On the way we will be able to see traditional Berber villages and discover the highest peak in North Africa, Jebel Toubkal (4167 meters). During this time of year Toubkal will be covered with snow which will make the surrounding views breathtaking.
After about 1 – 1.5 hours we will go to a traditional gite (guesthouse) where we’ll have a wonderful lunch. From up here we can enjoy beautiful views of the Mizane Valley.
After lunch we will walk for about 30 minutes back to Imlil.
Finally, we will transfer back to Marrakech by the same route
